Question for police officers dating single custodial parents?
If your boyfriend/girlfriend whom you are madly in love with opened his/her heart out about his/her tumultous marriage, and tells you about the ex-spouse not paying child support (sometimes crying in the case of the mothers,) how would you react? Has this ever happened to you? How did you feel? What did you do about it?
And how determined and how far would you go to track down the deadbeat non-custodial parent, and demand that he/she pay up, or you will take him/her to jail yourself?

I would offer advice & console the person, but I would go out of my way to make sure that I didn’t get involved or turn it personal. An officer can get into trouble very easily by using professional access or authority for personal reasons. It will get the officer fire &/or sued.
