Help for Single Mothers from the Government?
I am a single mother of a wonderful 3 year old daughter but am struggling to make ends meet. I need some financialy assistance and we need a place to stay. I have been told that there are government grants or programs that could help out in these situations, as far as housing and such. I live in NC, so I’m not sure if there are any state programs as well. Does anyone know of any and how I can apply?
Thanks
what do you mean low income situations?

Go to OPA, office of public assistance, these should be in phone book. You should be able to apply for foodstamps, medicaid, find out where the food bank is located. They can also help you to get a discount on your phone bill, heating costs, etc. There is HUD housing rent based on income, contact a HRDC office. Be careful about moving into low-income housing as you will encounter certain low -income situations and this can be more stress than it is worth.
