I’m 31-year-old single female and it’s time for me to have a child, except pregnancy is not really an option right now. So I’m looking at the adoption route. I would prefer a healthy infant. I’m looking at Holt International, simply because they are close to my home in Oregn, but I was wondering if there were other agencies I should consider. The option for singles seem limited. I do not think Holt makes up all the rules, but I was wondering if other agencies had other plans?

I am 29 years old and lately i really have had a desire to have a child. at this point it doesnt look like i will be married anytime soon or if i want to at all. but i really want to adopt in the next couple of years. i have an education, a good career & home, and good people around me. i thought of just using a sperm donor but i really feel adoption is the right way to go.

how much more difficult is adoption as a single parent? what extra steps would i have to take?

I live in NYC and would like to adopt in NYC. I have a stable income, home & Job. I would like to adopt a little girl 0-7 years old. What would I have to do? Any single parents went through this process and would like to share their experience? God Bless & Thank you so much.

I know that this is a very controversial subject, but I just wanted to know what all the yahooligans out there would do in a situation like this:

woman and man are happily in a relationship with their baby. woman starts to feel as if she is falling out of love and that she deserves better. they break up. a few months later, the woman gets intoxicated with a man (of another race) she had been dating and had unprotected sex. She decided that this was not what she wanted and thought maybe she should reconcile with her ex… to find out that she is pregnant from the intoxicated night.

if you are one of your friends was in this predicament what would you do or what advice would you give? would you a.) keep the baby and completely throw away a relationship that you once had and have 2 babies by 2 different men, that look nothing alike. one black, one white… and possibly lose your new job.. because, let’s face it. employers do not like newly hired pregnant women. or b.) carry the baby 9 months and give it to a family you dont know and just hope that it is loved and cared for or c.) have an abortion and know that you just killed your own life but won’t have to deal with the heartache and headache from family friends, work and so on
the only reason race is an issue is because the woman already has a child who is not biracial. so the other child would be an outcast. a mixed child in a white family.

Aftr reading thru the adoption website mentioned in an early question, I cam across this paragraph:

"Single parenting is a difficult choice to make because the child and mother often sacrifice so much in life. While single parenting is chosen by women all across America, it does have many drawbacks. In extensive studies of single mothers, many single mothers regretted not considering adoption more seriously. Many of these women were pressured by family members and friends who promised to help them with their parenting responsibilities. Most unfortunately discovered that assurances and support from family and friends quickly faded. They were left alone to struggle to parent their child. Many felt guilty for depriving their child of a better life that they would have had through adoption."

I have never EVER heard someone say "I am tired of all of this, I wish I’d have given my child up for adoption. This isn’t worth it"

I have been a struggling single mom and ever one did I wish I didn’t have my kids.

Anyone regret keeping their child?
