My mom is really getting frustrated with Christmas this year like you could not believe. She doesn’t know what to get anyone anything. And my dad is not helping at all with ideas. I’m trying to make it easy on her by giving her good ideas that she can build on.
So yeah, we’re both stuck…
She needs to buy for 5 nephews and neices, her parents, and my dad’s 3 aunts. She feels like she’s given everything and doesn’t want to repeat gifts. She wants to go a little cheaper on them this year.
We need your help on Holiday Gift Ideas!
For my cousins, I head to get a little basket and fill it with stuff like 2 blankets (for the couples), popcorn, hot chocolate mix, and other holiday stuff we can’t think of. With a bow on it. But when she told her sister (my aunt), she thought it wasn’t a good idea for her daughter (who is 22). I think that it’s a good idea because they are all older than 22.

For my grandparents (her parents), she was going to get two outside rocking chairs for their porch but my dad didn’t have enough money on his credit card at that time and now he finally has enough but now we wouldn’t get the chairs by christmas. So that idea is shot.

Lastly, she has no idea what to get for my dad’s 3 aunts that she buys for each year.

I am a widower and I have a small 4 year old boy. Desperately needing a holiday and since there was a huge sale, I booked a holiday for both of us to Club Phuket in March. I was very excited and really looking forward to it but now I realise although my son is going to have the time of his life in the kids club, I, on the other hand will be all alone, lonely and surrounded by couples (which is quite depressing). I feel like I have made a huge mistake, and its too late to get a refund.. Does anyone know whether there are any single parents that go to Club Med’s, or have I made a big mistake??
Why do most adoption agency’s discriminate couples with significant age differences (15-25 years) but allow single parent adoptions? Wouldn’t it make more sense for a child to grow up in a family with two loving parents instead of one?
Believe me i understand adoption isn’t a "right", but it seems to be a privilege only for your white, upper class 35 year old couple.
I never once said i was planning to adopt….no desire after research.
Gershom — I agree 100% that if it is between a single biological mother or a non bio couple that the child should be with the bio parent…no questions asked!

I’m not sure if I’ll get any answers here, since the people here are lifestyle not education it seems. I sort of got chased out of educational help sooo. But I though maybe there’s be a cpuple that have done reportings or curiosity searches on this topic. I need some good facts and statistics with sources for a persuasive essay for same sex marriage. Good strong points that may be a little deeper than the usual are also appreciated.
I already have bits about seperation of church and state, benefits to married hetero couples, the abcense of a same sex parent but single parents are ok, and some other minor ones.
