The woman now has 14 children, of the six she already had 3 have physical disabilities and there is a high probability that some of the 8 she just gave birth to will have problems as well. It was recently discovered the woman was taking welfare payments from the state of California to support the 6 children she already has. She lives in a 3 bedroom house in California with her elderly parents. Her mother stated in a television interview that she and her brood need to find a new place to live in a few months when the octuplets are home from the hospital. The state of California is talking about taking all of the children away from this woman because she will not be able to pay for and care for them properly. In your opinion is this woman mentally ill. I know sane women who would have a hard time caring and providing for 14 children let a lone a single mom.

When you’re a single parent it’s not easy. Many parents will feel they have to make up for a lot of things in their child’s life. But that can be a huge mistake, there are single parenting tips you need to follow. You can raise a child who is happy and safe even with these tips.

Parents who try to be both parts of the mother and father in a child’s life may have a hard time with guilt. That guilt can have them making bad decisions when it comes to raising that child. You can’t buy everything for a child, and you can’t fix all their wrongs they have done.

That guilt may make you feel that you have to buy your child more things than you normally would. But that can put not only a damper on your finances but also give your child the wrong message. You shouldn’t buy things for your child because you feel bad.

All adults know this won’t happen you are only hurting your child if you do this, not helping them. Teach them that money isn’t always available and at times you can’t have what other kids have. It’s a simple lesson and one they will appreciate later in life.

If they steal something punish them the right way, make them answer to the things they have done. Don’t fight their fights for them; they need to learn what is right and what is wrong. If they need to be sent to juvenile, let them go.

There are only certain things that you need to protect your child from, people who will hurt them, is the main thing. But when you child does wrong, you need to make them realize it, and at times it can be tough. Single parents will feel they have failed, but you haven’t.

Sooner or later your teen will need to face the music for what they have done. Please do not raise a spoiled kid, because there are enough of those out there already. Spoiling will be done by buying them everything and protecting them too much.

Yes you do need to protect your child from bad things in life, child molesters or bad people. But you can’t turn them into a bad person in the process. Let them know that they need to do the right things in life.

You as a single parent can raise a good kid, so do it, and don’t let them get away with things.

Ok I grew up where my dad was basically not around at all and for the important stuff he wasn’t there to protect me. I had no male figure in my life that was like a father. How does this affect me and you as far as being able to have a healthy relationship and knowing our roles as male and female in a healthy marriage? I tell you I feel ike I should be doing it all takeing over but I know that isn’t the right way. We each have our parts but since I never saw it I have a hard time knowing what it is. And head knowledge and experience I am learing are two different things.
PS I RESENT THEY PUT DIVORCE AND MARRIAGE IN SAME CATEGORY CAN WE HAVE A LITTLE MORE OPTIMISM ON THE PART OF YAHOO STAFF?

I’m a 25 yr old orthodox jewish man raising my 3 year old boy, Aryeh, alone. I was in a car accident last year that left me a paraplegic and resulted in my wife leaving me and our son. She has since moved back to her parent’s house in New York, leaving me and my son here on the west coast. I really have a few questions:
Under Jewish law, do you think it would be permissible or advisable to divorce her?
What do you think are the chances that G-d will bring her home to us?
What resources outside of the Jewish community are available for single dads who are having a hard time? My parents have helped financially but I am paralyzed from the waist down which makes it very hard to care for my son sometimes. Thank you very much,
- Jason
