I’m a 32 year old single female and am contemplating motherhood, possibly through international adoption. I’m a financially secure homeowner who has family that live nearby who could help lend support. What scares me the most is the lack of a paternal/male role model. Any stories, perspectives, or advice from other single parents would be appreciated.
I find the whole adoption "thing" like a massive maze of which I haven’t managed to find much information relevent to my own personal situation. I am 39 years old, single and looking at international adoption. I would love a hand to get me headed in the right direction. I am also considering going to live in my country of choice so I can adopt from there and am considering the Philippines.
regards,
Natalie.
What countries can a single female in the UK adopt from? I need to know for a story I’m writing. I’ve tried researching it, but there doesn’t seem to be much info about international adoption from the UK.
Jennifer L, I don’t think so, I looked, and there’s some info, but if you’re trying to find out the requirements for each country, the websites only have like, information about 2 or 3 countries. Maybe I should look more.
Edit: I’ve found that India, Bulgaria and Russia allow single parent adoptions, but I don’t know about Taiwan, Singaore or Mongolia. I’ve found a lot of conflicting articles about their requirements.
China is also a bit confusing, I thought they only allowed married couples, but a couple of websites have said that they allow singles.
