As the holiday time approaches,I wanted to know if there is anyone out there who would like to help out a family in need? I am a recently widowed single parent of 3 young girls. I am in dire need financially and about to lose our home> I know that the holidays are not meant to be about materialistic things but I just want to give my girls a nice Christmas after recently losing their father in a car accident, they could use something to make them smile. If anyone could help us out please e-mail me at emmiegsmom@yahoo.com Thank you to anyone out there who has it in their heart to help out some children this holiday season.

I have a daughter who is a straight A student and starting to plan for her college. I am a single parent with little or no help from my ex so we are looking thru possiblities of grants and scholarships to get her into college.
In addition, we live in the state of Missouri.

I am 23 years old, had sex out of wedlock w/ my boyfriend of 4 months. I was on the pill but was taking antibiotics that I had no idea hinder the pill and got pregnant. My boyfriend didn’t love me and left. One minute I feel like I would die for this child and do everything to take care of it. I have a 25K a year job, two and a half years college experience and a very supportive family. I feel that I could emotionally and financially be there for this child even if its on my own.

Then, the next minute the idea of me being a single parent comes crashing down on me. I fear loneliness, and I worry if I’m strong enough for this situation. After all I was not prepared for this. But I also don’t know if I could handle the emotional toll of an adoption. I am literally on a rollercoaster here. I am still in touch w/ my ex’s parents who are devout Christians and believe that it’s in the childs best interest to be in a two parent home w/ parents who are ready.
I just hate the discrimination I am getting from his family now that I am on my own with this. I understand that two parents usually are better than one, but I don’t think statistics mean Sh_t when it comes to the individual. Why am I being pulled in so many directions? Is this a sign I am not ready or is this normal? I would LOVE to hear from mothers who gave up their child for adoption and see what they have to say.
Thank you for your belief in me "justnuissance" but I said adoption not abortion. I am pro life.

I have only known him for 5 months but I feel like I’ve known him my whole life.. We used to spend almost every night together and see each other as much as we could in the day.. One night he went out with his friend, I wasn’t there, and the two of them got into a bar fight with a group of 10 young adults.. my boyfriend’s friend was knocked unconscious and is in critical condition a month later.. so my man was left to defend himself against 4-5 men.. he pulled out a knife and stabbed a few of them to get them off him and his friend.. he saved his friends life! he was scared and left the scene but turned himself in after the holidays. he has a daughter and is a single parent. he is such a good father.. his baby is so smart and healthy and loves him dearly. he treats me like a queen. it was just a bar fight and stupid decisions were made.. but he does not deserve to be in jail. he is a good person. does anyone know how i can write a letter to the judge? i have no idea where to begin.. I don’t have any experience with dealing with jail and inmates and judges and hearings.. but i love him and i want him back..

Hi, basically, I have my head set on adopting in the next 5 years or so. However, I also plan on staying very much single. I understand that many countries only allow single women to adopt, however I have heard of a few countries which allow it. I would like to know what countries allow this, and would really like to know of anyone who has done this, and what is needed of the single parent, if anything. Also, I’m in Australia, so obviousely it’s helpful if you know the laws both ways (ie. Australian laws affecting this as well as the other countries laws)

All your answers are very much appreciated!
